Halvpanama?

Vad för slags tyg är halvpanama? Är det glest vävt eller tätt? Kan man sy byxor av det eller är det mer ett gardintyg?

Jag är ute efter typ twill men hittar det inte i roliga färger. Halvpanama däremot finns i fler färger och är billigare.
